It’s true, poker is spread everywhere nowadays.
Online tournaments, tv shows, that friend of a friend who lives like a popstar playing three hours a day on the poker table.
I say clearly, I am not a professional poker player.
But, thanks to poker, i can have a nice addon on my salary, say 800 dollar (euros really, i’m european).
it’s possible to reach this situation by three things :
1) the choice of the starting hand to play
2) the bankroll management (aka the money you use for poker)
3) the choice of the online poker room
Here, i’ll not explain the rules of poker, the net is full of information about it.
1) the choice of the starting hand to play
It’s that. Everyone who plays poker knows this. It’s necessary to play with money and to do some bet if the starting hand cards are decent.
The value chart of poker card is , from the highest
A, K, Q, J, 10, 9 … 3, 2.
Here is my list of starting hand (two cards, i’m dealing with texas hold’em poker.

AK, AQ, AJ, A10, KQ, KJ, QJ, K10, Q10, J10
I play only with these cards
Entering with these cards gives an advantage against others players that play with everyithing.
I’ll play less hands, but I play on more tables .
2) the bankroll management (aka the money you use for poker)
I put a big sum of money on a poker site, play an evening, and all money ’s gone.
NO! This is not the way it’s meant to be played.
What you need to gain in a constant flavor is a little bit of money management , don’t worry, it only means that you must seat at a table that fits your poker money.
Every poker table has a minimum amount of money you must use on that table called buy-in.
I use this rule :
I seat on tables where the buy-in is 1/30 of my total poker money.
For example : if all my poker money is 300 euros, if i divide this by 30 i have 10 euros. I’ll seat on tables where the buy in is at maximum 10 euros.
My aim is to seat on tables where buy-in is higher, to optimize the gains respecting the rule of 30 buy-ins .
3) the choice of the online poker room
The other fundamental condition to gain with poker is the choice of the right (online) poker room.
What you want to choose is a poker room with people that are not good players, players that don’t choose the right starting cards.
I divide the poker rooms in two big groups.

On popular poker rooms there are many players, at every level, so you can meet the novice, but also the pro, you want to avoid these situations.
In the field of not famous poker rooms you must choose something really particular: poker rooms that are affiliate with bars, pubs . These poker rooms are full of people playing in a bar, with no experience, casual players.
Here in Italy there is this poker room :

This poker room is affiliate with many bars and pubs in the peninsula, its players often are casual players that often play from crowded places.
You can join this poker room, but start with a little sum like one hundred euros. At first play with the interface and small sums to get used to the site. Enter in the tables
repecting the rule of 30 buy-ins.
